Concept

Green Initiatives

At Rosy’s Little Village, we are unique in our ability to provide traditional Greek hospitality and incorporate eco-conscious practices that correspond to the needs of our changing environment. We prioritise our guests’ comfort and relaxation, and seek to increase our positive environmental impact on the island, and on earth. We use and source local products and employ local staff.

Food
We maintain a small organic garden that benefits from our compost, and use seasonal and available vegetables for our restaurant. Our olives and olive oil are locally sourced and pressed. We make our breakfast jams and tomato sauces. We pick and dry herbs from the island. Our wines, red, white and rose, as well as our traditional tsipouro are also locally sourced. Vegan and vegetarian options are staples in our menu, and our restaurant chef is amenable to special menu modifications.

Energy
Solar panels in our facilities provide support to our heating system for hot water.

Laundry and Cleaning
We support local businesses by using an off-site laundry facility. Our housekeeping staff use green and conventional cleaning products.

Transportation (to and from the port)
As a way to reduce or eliminate the number of vehicles on the island, we would really like to bring back the donkey as local transport, but it is not so easy. We have a small blue bus that will transfer our guests to and from the port.
